The best answer to that question is why not. And the CrossFit I35 28 Day Transformation Challenge starts Saturday October 1st. Or if your comfortable being 3 more months out of shape and overweight we will still be here in January.
Some of you have heard me say, “If it were easy we’d all be rich, sexy and beautiful” Well this post isn’t about getting rich and making more money but it is about the other two getting sexy and beautiful and if you’re reading this post you probably define sexy and beautiful as a leaner more tone and more fit you that looks good naked in the mirror and naked in front of your partner.
It you want to be sexier and more beautiful keep reading as the same lessons that Napoleon Hill described in 1937 about wealth work for any worthy life goal.
Between now and October 1 I’m will cover Hills six steps as they pertain to fat loss and fitness.
Again why October and not January because the most successful people in life know that the best time to start is NOW!
STOP and complete step 1 of Hill’s program NOW. Yes you’re probably in your car driving past the gym at 85 mph trying to read this on your phone so just pull over and do step one right now.
STEP 1: Decide EXACTLY what you want to achieve.
Sounds too simple, doesn’t it.
The truth is, most people fail at their fitness goals because they don’t have a clear mental picture and a benchmark of EXACTLY what they want to achieve. Just saying, “I just want to tone up and jiggle less” is a weak goal without any emotion to drive you forward. “I want to lose a bunch of weight,” is no better. And while, “I hate the way I look and feel” is a better reason and has emotion to it, its not a goal or the type of emotion that creates results.
Here’s what EXACTLY means
You have to be very, very specific…
How much weight do you want to lose?
How much body fat percent do you want to lose?
What size do you want to be?
OR, maybe it’s a more fitness related goal…
How many push-ups do you want to be able to perform?
How fast do you want to run your next (or first) 5k?
Until you have measurable and specific numbers only then can you start to form a clear mental picture of what you want (this will become important in later steps) and have a benchmark for your successful journey to goal achievement.
A goal sheet should look something like this:
“I am so happy and grateful now that I have achieved X% body fat.”
“I now that weigh X number of pounds.”
Bam! Specific. X% body fat. Number of pounds. Number of pushups. I can measure and track that. I can’t measure and track, “Tone up and lean up a bit”
There is a reason for wording your goal statement as if I’ve already achieved it, but we’ll save that for another lesson. In the meantime, just trust me.
The CrossFit I35 28 Day Challenge starts with setting specific goals and with a plan to measure them. In fact one of the things that attracted us to CrossFit in the first place is that everything we do is measurable and verifiable. We want to save you thousands with trainers who will caress, pamper and praise you because after spending a ton of money all you can say is that your fat clothes fit a little better even though you haven’t lost any weight. (also if your trainer says the reason you aren’t losing weight is because you’re gaining muscle FIRE him/her right now because thats pure BS)
If your goal is to lose weight we make sure the scale is moving south. If your goal is to wear a smaller dress or pant size we know you aren’t there until the label proves it.
Take a few minutes, or whatever it takes, and really think about what you want to accomplish.
I’d love to see what you come up with [First Name]!
The new 28 day challenge opens on Saturday October 1st.
