Today is the unofficial start of our new training cycle that for the first week will include daily assessments.
Today’s workout and assessment is the MyZone Fitness Test.
The goal of the MZ-Fitness Test is to offer a convenient and accurate measure of your heart rate recovery—how much your heart rate drops in the 60 seconds after exercise. The more your heart rate decreases, the healthier your heart is.
This test will become one of our gym’s major benchmarks of cardio recovery and heart rate health.
This test will require you to bring your My Zone belt and phone so your app can both record your results and cue your transitions.
If you can’t make today this is a test that can be made up anytime this week. The app will literally tell you what to do. Frankly, if you have any piece of cardio equipment at home you can do the test there. The app will keep your results honest and accurate and you can still share your results with everyone else at the gym.
This test can be performed on any piece of cardio equipment and we would just prefer that whatever machine you choose would be to use the same one when we retest in November.
More details about the entirety of the week and daily assessments will be published later this afternoon.
